I did not include the last day, because I got really bad food poisoning and was unable to do anything. In addition, most of the day was a travel day from Santorini to Rhodes.
Rhodes is absolutely stunning. The mix of a modern beach city, ancient Greek ruins, and medieval British architecture was fascinating and somehow worked. The old city of Rhodes is perfectly preserved and looks exactly like it did during the Crusades Era. It is surrounded by a system of moats and walls, and the houses and shops are left over from this time. A huge castle looms over the city, and it is furnished like it was in was in the 7th century AD.

We also explored the harbor where the Colossus of Rhodes used to stand. The Colossus of Rhodes was one of the wonders of the ancient world, which was a statue the size of the Statue of Liberty. It depicted the sun god Helios, the patron god of the city. It was destroyed in an earthquake, and no longer stands.
Seeing the diverse history of Rhodes was amazing, and one of the most educational parts of the trip.
