Taxis of Death and Lots of Food

We have finally arrived in Athens! After a 7 hour layover in Amsterdam and a 4 hour flight, we made it to our destination. We arrived at 8:00 PM, and took a taxi to the B&B we are renting. Let me tell you, Greek taxi drivers drive like no ones business. After riding 100 mph down the freeway with our extremely talkative driver, I was excited by the warmth of the people, but glad I wasn't driving.

After finding our apartment, we hit the streets in search of food. It was around 10:00 by the time we got our act together, but the streets were full of open restaurants and shops. It seemed like everyone was exploring the city. We stopped at a restaurant that had rooftop seating. We could see the Acropolis from it, which was stunning and lit up at night.

We ordered a meat plate, which had pork, chicken, veal, and beef marinated with different sauces and covered in veggies. There was also a falafel plate with hummus and pita, which was so flavorful and delicious.

Falafel rating? Definitely a 7/10. We are on a quest to find the best ones.

Tomorrow we will be exploring the Acropolis and other historical sites!
